Forget weaning or teething or learning to walk or not sleeping. This is, by far, the hardest thing I've had to do as a mum so far. One day they are both absolutely on board, wanna pee where you want them too and love getting stickers for being good boys.
And then there are days like today... Where we've gone through 5 pairs of pants with one and the other is sitting militantly in their poo filled nappy, with a glint in their eye which says 'Just try me'.
I wish this blog was full of advice on how to coax your kids on to the next important stage of their growth. But really, I'm fed up. The pressure, from everywhere it seems, to get your kids out of nappies is huge. Gitface Jr's pre school have been asking for it sense he started last year and because Cheeky Pants is only 14 months younger, he gets lumped in with his brothers milestones. Well meaning friends and family insist on telling you helpful (and sometimes boastful) stories about how little Tarquinius potty trained himself at 6 months and so did their next door neighbour's child, Barry the baby.
All in all, it can be added to the 'I feel like a crap mum' pile, along with chicken nuggets and fruit shoots.
So for today all three of us are gonna sit in our pj's and watch peppa pig....until I figure out what to do.
